I am new to CRK and just got my first, a large insingo. The prev. Owner anodized and stonewashed the slabs and i am wondering if this voids the warranty? I ony ask cause the lockup is round 80-90 percent and if it gets any later i might want to send it in. Or just for a sharpening/spa. Will crk still service my knife?

My sebenza also has pretty late lockup, but it has been that way since new, I believe that´s how Chris Reeve prefers the lockup to be, instead of early..
About the warranty I read on their site that any modifications made to the knife after it has left their workshop will void the warranty, but I imagine that with a certain fee they will refurbish your knife if necessary, they stand behind their products 100% and have excellent customer service

Yea... I do like the stiff detent and later lockup. Just wondering for future service if needed or sharping.

Its probably voided, but is worth a call to confirm. Thats why I stay away from any "custom jobs".

Same here. I understand modifying, if you do it yourself and understand what will compromise the integrity of the knife and what won't. It also helps to be able to fix things yourself...this nearly eliminating the need for any warranty.

Buying a moded knife or paying someone else to do it is putting a lot of trust in them. I'm not sure people contemplate the question, "does this guy understand and execute as well and safely as Chris?" It's one thing to have enough ego to think you are that good...after all, it's your knife to destroy...but some guy offering these services that has no insurance?...

Off my soap box now:)

I'd call but I believe they tune the lock by putting a shim on the stop pin or put a wider stop pin in, so if that's the case it would be a fairly inexpensive fix. Someone with more info might be able to help. But I suggest you call them. That's usually the first and best step.
