Heres the story: five years ago my left side became paralyzed. Lately my hand has been coming back somewhat, enough to hold a wobbly fork so I can just cut dinner.
Of course, this necessitated buying a great steak knife, to minimize pressure on the fork. I got one of Brad Larkins beauties at Bradford Knives. Great knife, beautifully balanced and very sharp. But I have to remember to take it when we go out.
So tonight I tried an experiment. We went out to Applebees and I had a steak; decent quality, not great. I whipped out my small insigno sebenza with micarta inlays to cut it. Worked just fine. Not as smooth as the Bradford, but very nice, and very steady in the hand. And the seb is always with me. So I never have to worry if I happen to be out and want to dine, without having planned ahead. And of course it washed up great.
The sebenza wins again. It just keeps getting better and better.
