Here’s the story: five years ago my left side became paralyzed. Lately my hand has been coming back somewhat, enough to hold a wobbly fork so I can just cut dinner.

Of course, this necessitated buying a great steak knife, to minimize pressure on the fork. I got one of Brad Larkin’s beauties at Bradford Knives. Great knife, beautifully balanced and very sharp. But I have to remember to take it when we go out.

So tonight I tried an experiment. We went out to Applebees and I had a steak; decent quality, not great. I whipped out my small insigno sebenza with micarta inlays to cut it. Worked just fine. Not as smooth as the Bradford, but very nice, and very steady in the hand. And the seb is always with me. So I never have to worry if I happen to be out and want to dine, without having planned ahead. And of course it washed up great.

The sebenza wins again. It just keeps getting better and better.

That is quite sad about your paralysis, but I am glad that you are starting to have some functionality. Keep up the progress. It is awesome that you have found another use for the Sebbie when you are out and forgot your usual steak knife. I have used mine for steak on more than one occasion as well.

Congratulation on your improving condition. Thanks for sharing your story too. I'm sure the more you use that small Sebenza the more attention it will bring and you will have the opportunity to introduce others to this wonderful world of CRK.

Wishing you the best for a continuing recovery. What a great story, thanks for sharing. CRK comes through again!

ASBOB, thanks for sharing, and I send prayers for your recovery. Hopefully things continue to get better, keep up any physical therapy you are doing. Good to hear some progress with it all though, that has to be a good thing.

I second that. Pocket knives are a cool hobby, but people are real. I am glad our hobby has some true worth in your life. I'm sure the folks at CRK would feel likewise.

Could not say it any better!

You just have to love the Insingo when it comes to slicing up a fine dinner, I too am a huge fan of that perfect little knife- and it's big brother.

I appreciate you sharing your story. I've had 3 operations to try to repair my shoulder and am trying to hold off a total replacement that is inevitable. I'm told that there's a high risk of paralyzingly my left arm during the procedure due to the damage inflicted by the hack that performed my first surgery and hearing that you're gaining mobility again is inspiring and helps to ease the stress of a very big decision.
God Bless you and I wish you the best.
