Hi,
I proud owner of Lg. Reg. Seb for almost 2 years and it's still my number folding knife 1:thumbup: , recently i started interesting in sebenza with damascus blade :D . Maybe someone could drop few lines about types of damascus used by CRK and differences in edge holding.

Thanks

I have seen the Devin Thomas ladder damascus and raindrop damascus at the Solvang knife show. The damascus looks much better in real life than in pictures. I was very impressed. If you are interested in placing an order at CRK, the wait time is estimated to be 6 to 9 months. Check out the link to Devin Thomas on the CRK website. Good info on his damascus. I spoke with Mr. Reeve at the knife show regarding the properties of damascus. If I remember correctly, he said damascus is not as good as s30v, but people buy damascus for their beauty. True North knives has basket weave damascus. You won't be disappointed if you see one in person. Hope this helps.

I purchased a stainless basket weave damascus from Neil and would highly recommend it. Great design

I've got both a Lg.Standard Sebenza with the Devin Thomas Stainless basketweave pattern. My favorite Damascus is the Lg. Classic I have with the older Devin Thomas Raindrop pattern. Both are real beauties.

Stainless Damascus Sebenza's are what I always strive for. I have several in my collection and have to say they are fantastic users. Yes...users! It's hard to compare a CPM steel(S30V) to a stainless Damascus(high carbon), two different forging methods. Though Chris was influential in developing S30v, which is why he promotes it so. Not knocking S30v(I think heat treated right, it has it's merrits), but stainless Damascus to me, cuts fantastic and holds a nice edge, not to metion that it is indeed stainless. Not that you would use an folder for prying, but the folded/welded steel of Damascus is much stronger than any conventional straight stainless, not in a brittle way either, just the opposite in fact.

So in a nut shell, yes get the Damascus you won't be disappointed. Not only does it look purrdy it cuts nice too! ;)

Different types of Damascus used by CRK other than the Basketweave(which is exclusive to TNK).
