I have a question for those of you with the micarta or wood inlay Sebenzas. How well do the inlays hold up with hard use?

Think a large Sebenza with Micarta inlay may be my next CRK.

There is virtually nothing you can do to the micarta that's going to hurt it...Get it....use it.

I just sold a bunch of knives I didnt need to finance another Sebenza, cant decide between a large plain or micarta inlay. This one will be a user and my Small Sebenza with the Crop circle graphic will be my 'gentlemen" knife

I have not owned a micarta inlay as of yet, but I do have some wood inlays and they give it a completely different feel In Hand when compared to the plain Ti. Nearly every post I have read about micarta states that its as tough, long wearing, and as worry free as you can get. Plus, it looks great. I know I am gonna get one some day. I have passed up some beauties over the years including the Classic, 21's and Insingo's. Hopefully someday soon I will just break down and get one.

Holds up perfect.
Used a large micarta inlay and everything is fine.
The micarta became dark from use (oils, etc) I couldn't get it light agagin, although i tried hard.
I used turpentine, gasoline (the one you get for using in a household it's transparent), nail polish remover (acteone) and pint thinner.
The scales are still on. ;)
The Micarta on the GB (more exposed handle scales) also took a lot and it's really tough stuff.

Haha, nice. I get mine looking good again by just washing the knife with good old fashioned hand soap.

The micarta will take anything you can throw at it. Do not fret on using it, hard.

Here is a teaser pic:

I've had both wood and micarta in both sizes. They've all held up perfectly well. No damage, no separation anywhere, not affected by "stuff" on my hands.

Yeah, micarta will take whatever you plan on putting it through. It gets more grip if it gets wet. The only drawback I've read about is that folks have had a yellowish tint to theirs for some reason, may be from the resin used in the process.
Micarta is my favorite inlay not only on my sebenza's, but on other knives I have.
I didn't see where I could PM you, if you decide to go with the micarta inlay, I may have a lead on one for you. :)

The micarta holds up better than plane Ti (because it won't show wear like Ti will). It stays very grippy when wet or sweaty.

Not sure what you have in mind, but you will notices scratches in many places of a user over time, but you probably will never notice scratches in micarta.

I just picked up a Micarta Inlay small insingo earlier this week. It will take the EDC role now and it feels just great in hand. Although mine has been my EDC for a week , I don't doubt that it will hold up very well.

Coming from other Sebenzas over the years (Small CGG, Small 21, Small Insingo, Large Regular, Small CF inlay Insingo), with this being my first Inlay that I actually carry, I'm asking myself why I didn't get one sooner!

Love me some micarta! I had a large sebenza w/ the micarta inlays that I've regretted selling ever since. I think I'll start up again with a Small Micarta Sebenza and just get them all (eventually!). It was nice and grippy and seemed to handle anything quite well. I'll take almost anything in micarta!

Alright, I'm convinced large 21 micarta inlay for me.

Just need to wait for the money to clear my Bank.

Ordered the Large Sebenza 21 with micarta inlay this morning.

Now the hard part of waiting.

Thanks everyone for their input, appreciated.

Congrats..you will love it :)
