Sebenza with Scales?

I was wondering if anyone has ever made scales for the Sebenza? I was thinking something for a better grip when slippery. Perhaps something like this guy does:

It seems like you might even be able to make a kit, with replacement (longer) screws that just "bolt on".

Hmm?

Oupa (Dirk) has done some unique custom ones:

"Zulu"

"Reef"

and another member has done carbon fiber inlays.

There was some discussion recently (here, IIRC) about interchanging scales sometimes affecting the fit and finish of the Sebenza, especially the function of the pivot and lock.

Cool idea, though. I like it.

G'day,
I have successfully added Australian Silky Oak scales to both sides of my small Sebenza. The front side looks like a 'special', the lock side also has full cover 'cause I don't like clips and wanted to cover the indent.
Epoxy seems to work fine.
I can't post pics here but there is one in the Chris Reeves forum on Knifeforums under the 'Pocket Clips' thread if you want to have a look.

I have made both overlays for my Sebenzas out of textured carbon fiber as well as making a solid scale out of carbon fiber for the non-locking side of the knife. Both mods turned out great, although I prefer the solid scale. Matter of fact, it's my EDC :D
