Sebenza ???

I have never handled a sebenza before. I needed a good hard use knife and I am the kind of person who likes to get something good and keep it forever, as opposed to spendeing less and doing a replacement every couple of years. Based on all of the reviews I feel I made the right choice with the small sebenza. I cannot wait to get it in.

I just had a few questions reguarding Chris Reeve Knives and Kydex sheaths

What is Chris Reeves waranty? I did not see a written waranty on his web page.

Does anyone use a Kydex sheath with there small sebenza?

Where do you get a Kydex sheath for a small sebenza?

Will it scratch the handle?

I hope the Sebenza fits your needs. I have the same mindset(althought I bought a large), and it is my every day carry and trusted tool for quite a while now.

The warranty used to be posted on the website, but I can't find it. You will get a card with the knife with the exact verbiage. It's a pretty standard lifetime warranty against material defects and problems with workmanship, as long as the knife is not altered. They do encourage you to disassemble the knife to clean and oil, which is a snap.

I haven't used a Kydex sheath with my Sebenza, but apparently it is common. There are 2 people listed on the CRK site here and another noted kydex sheathmaker around here is Eric at On/Scene Tactical whose work looks great. He'll custom make just about any kind of sheath you can image.

As for scratching, I am sure it will put light marks on the handle. If it gets too much to handle (pun intended) CRK will refurbish the whole knife for $21.

AJP: you can't wait for your sebenza!? you think it's bad now! you just wait until you order your second one (We all know you will!! ).
After you know excatly what your going to get from the first, the wait for your second is unbearable (in a good way). I'm currently waiting for a small regular with a swedge, serrations, double thumb lug and bead-blasted screws (I already own a large regular). Its driving me insane.

What did we get ourselves into?!?!

It is possible also to have quality leather sheath made which is excellent for everything except perhaps ocean carry. There is Gary Graley on thse forums, and other who can make one that fits like a glove and will not loose its fit tension.
