Hi Bladeforum members.
I´m from Sweden and this is my first post although I have been reading this forum for almost a year. I have quite a few traditional Swedish knives and some of the newer ones like the Fällkniven F1 and U2.
After reading the Bladeforum I have taken a interest in the great US tradition of knifemaking. I now have a Spyderco Caly 3CF, a Benchmade 943, a Chris Reeve small Sebenza Insingo and a Rick Hinderer XM-18 3,5" flipper. All great folding knives but I must say, the Sebenza is without a doubt my favourite.
The design is really appealing to me because it´s so clean and utilitarian looking.
The Hinderer is also a very good knife but It doesn´t appeal to me like the Sebenza does. It´s to rugged and heavy duty for me. I think I will try to trade the XM-18 for a couple of Chris Reeve knives, maybe a Mnandi and/or a Sebenza.

My Sebenza are carried most of the days.

I would like to thank this forum for learning me to appreciate good US made knives.

Welcome to the forum. Knives are one of the few areas in which products are getting better. Many items now days are being built to meet a price point, and the quality suffers. Knives in general are being made better than they have to be. We are not complaining. It is a joy to use items which are overbuilt (better than they have to be). We have industrial sculpture, super steels, CNC'ed handle slabs of exotic materials, locks that allow flicking in two directions, and close tolerances. The weights are decreasing, the edge retentions are climbing, the corrosion resistance is increasing, and the fit and finish is improving as are the MSRPs. What's not to like?

The Mnandi is a great looking smooth knife. It may be small for some, but overall its a classy knife and in my opinion CR's best designed folder.

My small Sebenza Insingo hasn't left my pocket since I received it, except when I go out for yard work and my Umnumzaan gets some lovin. Welcome!

The small Sebenza is indeed easy to carry but I think that a Mnandi would be even more appropriate in, for example, an office environment.
Judging by the pictures that are available on this forum and on Youtube it isn´t that much of a difference in size between the small Seb and the Mnandi.
If I am happy with the size of the Seb it should not be a problem with the Mnandi beeing to small.
The best thing to do would of course be to "feel" the knife before buying, but that is easier said than done when you live in Sweden. Not that many CRK dealers around! (one internet dealer and no one with a traditional store)
Thanks for your welcome wishes.

For a few years I had carried a small Sebenza that I had bought when I was working in the US. And I refused to really read what is in the forums for fear of getting addicted. 3 months ago I was looking for some info about the Sebenza for a buddy of mine----big mistake!!! I ended up with 1 Zaan, 1 mnandi and another 5 sebbies. You have just taken the first step to an addiction that knows no end. Welcome.

One of the big differences I find with Chris Reeve Sebenzas and other knife makers knives is that Chris offers the Sebenza in so many configurations(sm.Lg,plain, computer graphic , unique graphic, micarta inlay, mammoth inlay , wood in lay, limited editons). There really is a Sebenza for everyones taste. Plus being a well built knife and great EDC of course.
