I have both second and third generation mx18. The one with Hinderer's name on the blade (which is the second generation I think) the blade is closer to the G10 side of the handle when closed. There is more space on the titanium side of the handle. It's not scratching the handle but not perfectly centered like the third generation model. I tried loosenig the pivot and it touched the handle. By tightening the pivot the blade goes alittle to the titanium side but still closer to the G10 side. Anybody there who has both second and third generation model and compared them? How is your second ones centered? Can you think of why this is happening? I wanted to post pictures but I'm sorry I did not pay the forums to let me do that.

The two second gens I had were not perfectly centered, my third gen is.

One trick to try is to slightly loosen the pivot, and I mean slightly. Open the knife and carefully push the blade towards the side it is closest to when closed, and this would be the G-10 side for you, close the blade and see if you made any difference, if not try again with more pressure. When blade does center tighten the pivot back only as much as you loosened it, unless you want a tighter pivot. let me know if you try this and if it woeks. I've tried it several times with a lot of success. Outside of this I would say to completely disassemble and clean then put back together.:D
