Second batch of Cuda Maxx's

I've had a Cuda Maxx on order from Bayou Lafourche Knifeworks for nearly a month. They said that they sold out of the original batch of Maxx's and are waiting for the knives from the second manufacturing run to arrive. They said this second run has been delayed because of problems with the handles. What kind of problems are you having? Are you perhaps fixing the handle color problem? How long will this delay be? Just curious!

I called Camillus directly. They said that the knives are being held up while the company that makes the handles for Camillus gets the handles' color closer to the the color the Cuda Maxxes were originally advertized with. Camillus planned to ship the new, more colorful Maxxes by early next week (about May 11 or 12). :D

Cool. I have one on order too and hoping that mine is somewhere in the next batch. Great detective work, Chuck! :)
 
Mine's on order, too. The jobber told my dealer that it would be the 23rd of May before he got them. (I hope he was just giving himself some leeway, and that they will be in on the 10th or 11th!)

Chuck Asher: Just last week I placed an order for a Maxx with Roger at Bayou Lafourche also. He mentioned that he would begin shipping, hopefully next week (week of May 13). I doubt if mine will be shipped next week since I am sure Roger has a good number of orders waiting to be shipped prior to me placing my order.

Can't wait. No matter how many knives I have, when I have a new one on order, that is the one I want to carry most.

BTW- Wait till y'all see whats coming up soon from camillus. I dont think im supposed to talk about it...so ill just say really vague things about this knife to tease you all :D
 
Will spent the weekend here in NC. The dude returns my phone call Friday night from the road....only AFTER he passed Winston-Salem. Chicken!!! :D :p
 
jayharley, after you get to use your CUDA Maxx for awhile I'd like to hear your comparison of the Maxx against your TOPS CQC Magnum. I may still be interested with the Magnum. (As you know, when it comes to sex, money, and knives, there ain't no such thing as "too much"). ;)
 
DEMAND. Guys, we can only make a few of these knives at a time, as they take ALOT of machining to make the handle frames. We have been steadily shipping these knives for the last few weeks, but we have a SERIOUS backorder to work through. THere are accounts that still haven't recieved their first knives yet, so the guys that have gotten and sold through their first batch will be waiting for awhile yet.

We had a 1 week delay after the first batch was shipped to sort out a material issue from a supplier, and we have been shipping steadily since. Good things come to those who wait;)
 
Roger at Bayou Lafourche Knifeworks said that he shipped my Cuda Maxx second day air yesterday! My Maxx should be here tomorrow!! Happy day - I can hardly wait!!!

Thanks Roger, Camillus, UPS, and anyone else that helped this come about.

:p :D :) My Cuda Maxx is here and its AWESOME! Thanks everyone! I'd post a picture if I had a digital camera. The Cuda Maxx's color, after Windex, is pretty close to the original pictures before the Maxxes first shipped. Good job!
