Second Cut???

Can anybody tell me what the difference is between a regular type bone handle slab and a second cut bone handle slab. Particularly in knives like Case. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure how Case uses the term second cut. When I buy a large chunk of Ivory, the Bark is the outside and anything else is the second cut.
