Cold Steel Recon Scout 3v part 2.
This is the second handle attempt, the first one turned out great and already sold so I figured why not try it again. I wasn't really looking to sell it but was talked into it by the new owner.
I made a few changes to this one. This one only took about 6 hours.
I used leftover scrap canvas on this one so it is a 2 piece where the first one was one piece. There is a seam but it doesn't affect anything.
I was able to do a channel milling on this to accommodate the tang and while I couldn't drill the tang for a lanyard hole I was able to grind a u shape in it that allowed me to use a brass tube that also created a solid mechanical attachment.
On this one I decided to do some brass pins in addition to tubes that secures the halves, the halves are epoxied together and to the tang so it is as permanent as it can be. I did use JB weld so it will be insanely strong.
I really liked the shape on the first one so I did a similar shape (aka strider) but kept it basic without the second finger groove.
I was able to basically complete the handle prior to assembly as I did on the first one, final finish was a breeze.
I am very impressed with the 3v on these so far.
I think I said it before but this one is a keeper for sure.
Thanks for checking out my number 2 😁
