My 556 has served me well in the last month, as my only EDC.

One of the sub-themes of the whole knife enthusiast genre is preparedness.

With this in mind, I am thinking about adding a fixed blade knife to my EDC, to handle the tasks the 556 would be unsuited for.

I am looking for suggestions. My criteria are that it must have a comfortable sheath which holds the knife securely, will not loosen with wear, and the sheath needs to be configured for as many carry options as possible, since it would be concealed 99% of the time.

The only other thing I would ask is that you say what you have done with your fixed blade, if you have one to recommend.

Thanks.

Well I don't know about the whole shealth thing, but the Buck Large Paklite Skinner is very strong.

Might as well look for knives with Kydex sheaths or simple nylon, molle compatible ones.
