I recently took delivery of my second knife from Claudio Sobral. Already having one of his choppers, I asked him to make a variant of one of his smaller patterns with desert ironwood scales. As expected, the knife turned out amazing and Claudio was delightful to work with. You can see more of his work at his website: CAS Knives

Steel: San mai 420/1095 - .225" at ricasso
OAL: 9.5"
Blade: 4.75"
Weight: 10.2 oz

Claudio is one of maybe three knife makers that I've bought a knife from that I didn't have a hand in designing.
CAS is one of the best, in terms of value, design and attention to detail.
I'm looking forward to my second CAS knife, it's gonna be reedonkulus.

That is nice and the middle layer is really in the center of the spine. Sweet!

Beautful knife, you are a lucky man :). Looking at your pictures makes me think of my own CAS knives, which I treasure alot!

Congratulions Shawn,

CAS knives are very high quality.

I also have my second CAS knife on the way.

Wonderful work

Claudio is IMHO in a league all his own

Does the new knife have a tapered tang ?

Lot of nice features going on in that knife. would love to see an elegant sheath make it a complete package. Surely something you will love to carry and show.

Hello!

Congratulations, Shawn! You got yourself a fantastic piece there! I always love seeing CAS-Beauties! Your two make a great set!

Makes me want to get yet another as well... :)

Best regards,
Alex

Very nice set you got there . I am very impressed with his work as well. He pays attention to the details !

Hi Murray. Both knives came with finely made and tooled leather sheaths. I'll try to get some photos of them for this thread!

Congrats Shawn:thumbup:I have one Cas myself it's one of my jewels in my collection as well. Your pics of the Iron wood are exquisite what a great pair you have going. For the money you really can't get a better feeling knife. His contoured grips are amazing as well enjoy you have great taste in steel.

I,ve always marveled at the Cas knives, the perfection he achieves with the steel marriage. Precisely centered and perfectly ground let alone the artistic license on the wood contouring.

Hi Shawn, You have taken some very nice photos!
Thank you very much for everything, you have been very kind to me.

I also wanted to thank everyone for your comments
Best Regards,
Claudio
