A new slimmer model was made to increase the cutting ability on binding materials, and a longer handle was added to increase blade balance for more power during chopping.
The performance in some areas was much higher as expected, however the edge lifetime on hemp rope didn't increase as expected. The more acute edge just collapsed.
There was also more limitations to scope of work due to the much weaker blade, which now could be easily warped in hand. Ref :
