What is the shape of the secondary blade that you use the most on small or medium folders?

Coping
Wharncliffe
Pen
Sheepsfoot
Other

I find myself most often going for a warncliffe for detail work, though the pen is useful too.

I guess the answer to your question as asked is the pen blade, since that is the most common secondary blade on knives I own. When carrying a Stockman the sheepsfoot blade gets the most use, even more than the main.

I prefer pen as secondary, but I have a couple of nice pointy coping blades that work very well, too.

Pen blade mostly, 'cause that's what's usually there on my knives. I like the pen shape of the Small Texas Jack in particular. The only coping blades i have are on whittlers and should normally be used for carving. I'm more of a whittler (in the court house square-rocking chair traditional style) than a carver. Surprisingly, (or maybe not) all of my wharncliffe blades are large mains and not small secondaries. Since I own no stockmen (two on the way), I have no pure sheepsfoot blades, except for a large one, on a knife with a marlinspike, that I seldom carry.

As a stockman user, the sheepfoot is the most common for me. On a two-blade jack, I would much rather have a Wharncliffe or coping than a pen, like on the GEC #92 Eureka.

I love a coping blade, but most of my knives have sheepsfoots instead. Either way, you can't beat a short, controllable blade with a sharp tip.

The only secondary I have that isn't a pen blade is the coping blade on my eureka #92. I use it all the time and will probably end up converting other pen blades to coping blades at some stage.

I don't have many knives with a coping blade, it is my preference for a small secondary so long as the main blade isn't a wharncliffe or sheepsfoot already. If the main blade doesn't have a belly like I just mentioned, then I would prefer a pen blade or even a small Spey blade.

None of the above... I'm a single blade fan. Pen blades are weak and useless, except for cleaning crud out from under my finger nails, the duller the better.

It depends if the mainblade has tip or not. If it´s without a tip (sheepfoot for example) the secondary should have a tip (pen for example) on mainblades with a tip I prefer it the other way - though it´s mostly impossible to find that setup. But I´m still looking for... :D

Pen is always great, imo.

I have to admit to rarely using the secondary blade on my knives, I'll often opt for a pattern with a small secondary blade however as it widens the frame. The exception for me is my #72 Cody Scout with packs a pretty useful sized pen and the awl on a #54 Harness Jack which comes in handy. I also like the awl as it tucks away nicely, if a secondary sits too proud that can be a deal breaker for me.
