Might be able to, if you tell us what a secondary edc is and what you expect to do with one.

Think he wants to carry a second knife. Myself I carry both a left and a right hand Spyderco Military. But those are out of the price range he is talking about, so will not bother to post pictures. The price range he is asking about is just about on a par with corner gas station El Cheapo Chinese junk, IMHO.

I agree with marcinek. Are you carrying both or are you going to rotate them? For example, I carry 2 EDC knives. One is always my $40 Becker (BK14). My other is either another Becker (BK11) or my $90 Benchmade Griptilian. For a good low price knife though, I suggest a CRKT. They make great knives for lower prices.

Here's a pic of my EDC rotation.

I carry one primary locking folder and a Leatherman Juice S2 that just so happens to have a knife in it.

kershaw cryo.
I don't carry a knife under your limit so I wont post a pic. I carry a Zero Tolerance 0200 with my Kershaw leek as the "secondary?'

i want a small light and thin knife just in case i lose my primary or something, you never know what might happen. it should be much smaller than normal and i would prefer it to be cheaper because it is not an essential knife for my line up

Kershaw OD-2 than, it fits your requirements to a T.

If you "never know what might happen" why would you want a cheapo backup? If a backup isn't capable of functioning as well as an essential primary..carrying it is pointless.

Something along the lines of a Victorinox Rally or Rambler or leatherman micra makes a good secondary knife to carry. I carry both the Rally and Micra along with whatever else I feel like for the cutting tasks, those 2 smallers ones are good for fixing small electronics and cutting something in case I forget my main knife which rarely happens. In the past 5 years I probably had to resort to using those 2 smaller ones for cutting tasks less than 10 times.

I like the OD-2 recommendation if you're looking for a smaller knife to carry at that price range. Another great Kershaw option is the really sweet little thin and light flipper, the Chill.

I prefer the Kershaw Hawk to the OD-2, just because the blade is a longer. The thumb studs could be better, but otherwise it's a great little knife -- it's very thin and disappears in the pocket (especially after removing the clip). That said, you'd probably get more use out of Swiss Army Knife (like a Cadet or Pioneer).

Sigh. You can get plenty of great budget Kershaws for $25-30(a few have already been mentioned in this thread), and are Opinels "on par with El Cheapo Chinese junk" too?

Here's one I like, the Kershaw Oso Sweet:

Reasonably thin, 3 inch blade, 3 ounce weight.

If you don't want an assisted opener, you can go with the Chill, same price range, same size range but a little thinner, and non assisted:

I would suggest a SAK or small multi-tool. A Leatherman Juice S2 is my secondary blade to a one handed folder(third if I'm carrying a fixed blade too). I use the blade occasionally, but the tools on it all the time. Extremely convenient tool to carry.

Victorinox, a sm Leatherman or an Opinel are pretty much the only things I would consider in that price range.
