Secondary for my Bodega?

hey all,
Just recently got my Bodega in the mail, in love with by the way, and I have been flipping through photos of my current collection to find a good smaller secondary knife to pair it with. I follow the 2 blade principle of 1 large blade and one smaller blade. Im looking for a smaller folder no larger than 2.5" that would match well with this guy

Yes, i like my knife to compliment each other. by that i mean i dont carry both with matching blades: tantos, full serrations ECT. Scales i could care less about.
Manufactured or custom. Any suggestion is welcome

If it doesn't have to be equally high-end, I would suggest a CS mini tuff-lite. It would give you an inexpensive utility type blade.

Ritter Mini-Grip or for higher end, a William Henry or Chris Reeve Mnandi: here are a couple of pics:

I don't understand why you'd need to carry two knives? Not trying to be rude or anything, but that's a little pointless. A knife like that will assuredly stay sharp for quite a long time, negating the need for a secondary blade. Is the smaller one meant to be a "fondling knife"? I confess that I do not get the logic here and never have. Same with people who carry flashlights everyday and never have need of them. Again, not trying to be offensive. The only time I could see the use of having an extra knife on hand is on extended trips away from home. You mentioned a ship, so that may be the case here.

as for the flash light many that carry them have the feeling they would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. 90% of people who carry firearms everyday rarely ever NEED them but are glad they do if that 1% ever occurs. As far as carrying two knives I personally dont. But I must admit there have been time when Im carrying a rather substantial knife like a bodega or something similar in size and the situation I find myself needing a knife its a little too intimidating to be pulling out at that given moment. Then I find myself asking to borrow a friends SAK so that Im not pulling a sword out of my pocket in a dense mix of non knife friendlies. Would the big knife work? Yes. But pulling such a huge knife for such a small task without any respect to non knife people is part of the reason why we struggle to keep our knife rights. Sometimes carrying about the man who isnt a knife person can improve our image. When your a self imposed knife nut its sometimes hard to remember and accept that while we consider them tools, a good portion of the population considers knives deadly weapons of no needed purpose but to maim and kill.

no offence to it, this is, as Purledc said, for those times where one, being the smaller, is used for some situations where a larger, ie bodega, would be considereda scary weapon. I also carry a smaller knife because sometimes a big folder can be difficult to use in that situation. Me being on a ship doesnt really have much to do with the size, however; the second blade is also for my shipmates who do not carry knives and do not know how to properly use knives, i can give them the smaller one and if/when it comes back destroyed I wont be as upset or disappointed.

BTW I EDC a pelican compact flashlight. Its useful for what I do lol :D

Aaah I feel ya. I live in the South, so most people don't blink at what comes out of the pocket. I like mid range size blades as well, but need a slicer at work. I've just never had a situation like that where I didn't just ignore the goggle eyes, lol. People are getting to be so sheltered these days.

I wish I had a field grade Bodega. :D

Nice Bodega ;)

How about an FRN Dragonfly? That's what I take along as a second blade when I carry a Military or 710 etc.... For the same reasons already discussed and just today I needed to cut a couple of zipties in a parking lot and instead of taking out the Millie I used the Dfly in public. I really wish it wasn't like this, depends on where you're at. In Stockton, CA aka another Oakland/Detroit, a knife is viewed as a weapon.

Aha, just read that you want it to complement the Bodega... Oh well, something prettier like a William Henry will do I guess.

before for enlisting, about as much $ in my bank account(Neither Ballin' nor broke). Now, just alittle over 150, most comes from multiples in different colors or ones I've made. I'm looking at couple of photos i took with them all displayed out because my whole collection is not with me, they are with family. only have 4 with me & every now and then send one home to receive another when we send packages to each other.
Random thought, how well do you think the Navy would react to me carrying one of these

Total joke, no intentions in carrying, too much history...... & bad Blood :D

Haha. :P

Regarding your thread, I don't have much advice to give regarding knife usage. I basically only collect knives.. But Kershaw OD-2 is a fun, little knife.

If you don't mind going up to a three inch blade, the Begg Mini Glimpse friction folder is the closest match you're gonna get.

double Begg, daring. though i am open to a 3" blade, dont think i calmly carry that much $$/blade.

honestly after drooling over my bodega I am a little hesitant to take it on a ship. I'm sure I'll shake it by the time i step on the boat
