LOL, I just had this mental image of a bunch of guys young to old, jeans to Armani, showing up at a door in the back of someplace and pulling out a patina'd yellow handled Case Soddie Jr. in the palm of their hand to gain admission. Or pulling them out at somewhere as something like a secret lodge handshake.

See what yer in for?

I got it!

Bob - Nice knife, but you need to get some lotion! ;)

I'm not a member of the Secret Society of the Sodbuster (SSS) but I am a card carrying member of the Small Texas Jack Assocation.

We are members of the KGB (that's Knife Good Blokes) as well.

Okay, so I guess I gotta show too. But since it's a secret handshake I thought I'd catch it coming out of the shadows for a quick show in the light. Just in case someone was watching.

Ok, OK guys, I guess I will use some lotion before my next "hand modeling" job! In my defense I use a lot of paint solvents daily.

I feel for you man. I work in a detergent based coolant (for machining) and it tears my hands up, especially in this cold weather.

"Come on, Mac, lemme in, see! I got these beauties ...

"... and jackknife even told me the password: 'Sharp, not big.'"

Nice Sod Buster. While I really like the features of the GEC Bullnose, a yeller CV Sod Buster Junior just has some mojo that's hard to explain. Great knives.

What is that thing, Carl? Quite cool.

That's an old knife that an old friend named Bill gave me many years ago, when I admitted to a admiration of it. Bill was born a knife knut, and later became a famous knife smith. When he was a young sprout, they had some German POW's working on the family dairy farm in Lime Kiln. One of the POW's had worked in the knife trade in Solingen before the war, and young Bill pumped him for info. His name was Albert Wurtz. The guy ended up working in the farm's blacksmith shop, and showed Bill how to make a folder, using an old file for a bale, and splitting a piece of crown stag length wise for a handle. He also showed Bill other knife making things. I believe Bill said the knife was made around 1943 or 44. The steel liners were made to fit the stag, as was the blade. Bill carried that knife for over 40 years or so. I carry it now and then, remembering a friend that I shot with, went fishing with, and did some drinking with now and then. It cuts great!

Carl.
