"SecurLok"?

I was looking through the reviews on Fred Perrin's site, and in the beginning part of the review of the Military, it quotes Mr. Glesser:

"The new eSecurLokf that Frank Centofante invented is scheduled to be added to the Military Model sometime in '99. This would eliminate the fear of accidental lock release."

What was/is the "SecurLok"? I'm curious because the only reason I'm holding back on buying a Military is because of my luck with linerlockers, and their disengagement.

Good question sph3ric pyramid!

I read the Fred Perrin review, too (very funny piece of writing!) and I stumbled across that SecurLok thing also. I don't think it has yet been added to the Military because I have a new one in S30V and it has "just a liner lock". :)

You really shouldn't worry about the Military lock though - I was quite concerned about it, too - but only before I got the knife. The lock *really* is a dream, spine whacking doesn't move the liner at all and no white-knuckle-death-grip will make it disengage either, at least not in *my* hands.

In fact I can't think of anything that will make the lock fail that wouldn't destroy the handles/pivot pins/etc. at the same time as well.

The securelock was an additional locking mechanism that secured a linerlock against accidental opening. It was never added to the Military, or any of the other Spyderco clipits.
