I didn't do to good planning what I wanted to get out of a piece of barstock
. I started a folder, and a 7.5" drop point. Then decided I should go ahead and use the rest and send it all in to be heat treated at once. I really like the pattern I came up with for the drop point and figured on doing another with different filework and handle material. Turns out that theres only 6.5" of steel left. Think theres any problems with going ahead on the full tang pattern, but having the tang about an inch short? There will still be a good 3 inches of tang in the handle and I'll probably use 1/8" G10, with a G10 spacer to fill in the butt of the handle. I could cut a slot in the end of the tang so they interlock too, what do you think?
