see these two tops knives

I handled the firestrike at Blade this year. They also had an anaconda 7" on display. I bought the anaconda simply because it's a full 1/4" thick as opposed to the firestrike being 3/16" or so. Plus, it (the anaconda) has a nice belly to the blade. I was looking for a camp knife to double as a small hatchet. The firestrike may be a better slicer due to it's slim cross section.
I don't have any experience with the scalpel.

TOPS is ok stuff but kinda pricey. Have you looked at swamp rat knives also? And don't forget to look at www.fehrmanknives.com, very hardcore handmade knives of CPM3V for not much more $ than TOPS.

i have a tops nite chaser,

its a really nice knife and very sharp

it has a good blade coating too

it was quite expensive however but you get what you pay for

Im pleased with the knife, i really like it but if i had to give an honest opinion i would say it was maybe 10% overpriced.
