I've heard that the acting is fantastic, but I've also heard that some people left the advanced viewings vomiting from the gore of him cutting his arm off. I could have missed part of that story, though?
 
another survival movie worth checking out is Deadfall Trail. It is a direct to vidoe release and is advertised as a horror movie but i thought it was decent considering the budget.

It's about three guys who go on a survival trip and only allow themselves a belt knife and water bottle to survive and must rely on their environment to provide everything else.

I liked the movie except for the fact that not once was frankos hip belt on securly... He had it buckled but just very very loose.
