Ok here's one with a little more eye candy to go with it:

I got the package yesterday opened it up and saw this beauty. It's done by Matt Lamey and it's his Scorpion Fighter it has Desert Ironwood handles, which I like a lot and am considering getting some 1911 grips done in the material. It has a 7in. blade, 1095 3/16 blade.

It's very well balanced and fast

.

You can see more of his stuff here:

Don't bother ordering any of his stuff though, because if you do it will make me have to wait longer for the knives I want to get from him

That's a nice blade, Ross. I'm planning on making Matt's table one of my first stops at the Spirit of Steel show this month.

Man! Now you're gonna screw it all up for me now, aren't cha?

My custom bladed habit is starting to move into the fixed blade catagory and I saw his site and inquired about a photo for the Scorpion. When I saw it I knew I had to have it. Oh please don't tell me you're gonna be getting a bunch of his stuff because I might as well just give you a direct deposit of my paychecks of all the toys I'll be picking up from you. You get enough of my $ from folders and NOW it's gonna be fixed blades! My wife isn't gonna like you very much Les

Hi Ross,

I figured a dozen to start with, after all Matt at this point is a part timer. The market is definetly swinging towards tactical fixed blades. Now there is a group of knive's I really know something about!

Late this year/early next year I hope to release the latest group of Vanguard Tactical Fixed Blades.

The group of makers so far includes:
Kit Carson
Jim Hammond
Jerry Fisk
RJ Martin
AL Polkowski
Schuyler Lovestrand

Additionally, there will be some new folders for next year, several D/A's in the group.

So send me you bank's information and I will set up the direct deposit account for you.

Seriously, Matt is going to get real busy real quick. So for those of you thinking about getting one of his knives, don't wait to long.

Mat already does fine work and he is one of those guys who is never satisfied.

In addition he is a straight up person to deal with.

Nice looking knife Ross. Congratulations.

Les: that sounds like a fantastic line up of makers. I am sure the knives will be fantastic also.

Ross, that's real beauty!

You guys were so fast. I saw Matt's posts on On Sale forum. All were gone within 3 days.

I am ahead of Les this time. I emailed Matt instantly after seeing the picture of Scorpion on his website. I ordered one with the same desert ironwood handle, but blade in 3V, of course.

Matt's a very nice guy to talk with. And we're both 1911 fans.

Thanks to all of the kind words. Im gearing up for the Mesquite Show, if you plan on attending please stop by and introduce yourself. Im taking the next 3 weeks off to work strictly on knives for the show, then i will clear my orders.

Again, thanks and have a great Labor Day weekend.
