Good bye for a while everyone.

I'm going on a defining survival trip to Europe - heading south, running from the harsh winter. The weather will be bad and cold, and I have really no money at all to spare. Just me and my trusty knives and axe. Report will follow, if all goes well.

This certainly has been a great experience so far, not least because of the fine people at the IRC channel, you know who you are.

I look forward to "seeing" you all in a couple-to-few months.

Greetings from Stuttgart. Did I actually say few months? Not likely.
I already found that some of my kit was inadequate, and am looking at the options now. One is to keep going southwards, which I will do if I find a cheap transport. The other is to head back home. which I'll have to do in any case within a couple of weeks. Has been pretty fun so far though, except for the sleeping with boots on because it's so cold at nights part.
 
Don't give up Way-O, if you can get down to Italy its sunny and warm still. I hear its nice in Naples this time of year!
 
Im in Malaga now. Was +21C yesterday with good sunshine, today is a bit rainy. Im looking for a cheap hostal to crash one night and take a shower, which I really really need badly.

Please give us reports as often as possible . We enjoy travel & your adventure is very interesting . Want to go to Bavaria & can afford it but wifey & I are at an impasse. I won't fly because of " No Smoking " & she refuses to go by ship. Guess we'll have to travel apart or wait until they build a big bridge.

I took a cheap hotel in Malaga, which was apparently recently renovated. They even gave me a double room. It had a very tidy bathroom - I don't remember the last time I had a good soak in a bathtub.
After I ran out of money, about four days in Spain, I took the cheapest flight north, to London. I've been staying with my cousin here for a few days, and am now at Stansted airport waiting on a morning flight.
I didn't plan to make such a short and conventional trip, but it just turned out this way. I'm not complaining - I got to dip my feet into the mediterranean which was one of my key goals :)
I'll probably visit friends at Tampere which is my next destination before I take a train back to Helsinki. I'll write more when I get home. This is costing me 10p a minute, and I want to browse other threads too :)
