Interesting.
Another neat tool along these lines is the USGS's (now Microsoft's evidently)
TerraServer. It will give you closer views of some things, as the pictures are compiled from (mostly) aerial photographs. Some of the photographs are rather dated but hey...it's free.
I always get a kick out of these things. And now, it's time to violate my privacy.
From Google Earth: an overview of Silverdale, with all of the relevant landmarks designated with yellow arrows. (Although the Camp is said to be in Chico or Seabeck - neither of which are towns anymore - it's technically in Bremerton, but is much closer to Silverdale.) The garbled red lettering at the north end of Dyes Inlet says, "Silverdale". Note that the Silverdale Dot is located in "Old Town" Silverdale where the town was originally founded; I'd like to think that Google did this as a tip of the hat to the locals but I suspect that they put the dot down there so as to avoid obscuring the Kitsap Mall, Silverdale's actual purpose for existance currently. (The big white blob half a mile or so north of Old Town.)
From Terraserver: a closeup of Satori's house. The pic is close to thirty years old and doesn't accurately depict the Blackberry Invasion nor my car. We'll let that slide for now as it's a free service.
From Terraserver: a shot of the south end of the Camp. Date unknown but it looks pretty much the same way today.
1 - Range House
2 - Classroom and Cleaning Room
3 - Admin Building
4 - Wood Shop and assorted smaller buildings
5 - Road to "A" (indoor 25 yard) and "C" (outdoor 25 yard) ranges
6 - "B" (outdoor 25 yard) range
7 - Outdoor 600 yard range (you're only seeing about 300 yards of it)
The Pond is visible at the north end of the picture. It's the dark spot in the central strip of woods.
Enjoy the shot of the Camp. By this time next year it will most likely be a development, and that view of Silverdale will have a bit less green and a bit more gray.
