sent me a 66 slim as a Christmas gift that year. It was my first GEC and soon became my favourite knife. One Sunday next summer I drove back to the capital where I study and had the slim with me, in a pocket of some very comfy shorts. Too comfy, it turned out. I emtied the content of my pockets on the desk as I usually and it struck me - the knife was gone! I rushed back to the car searched for it in panic. I repeated that several times over the week, I basically turned my little car inside out, yet that little rascal was nowhere to be found ... It hit me hard, I've never lost a knife before and am generally not a person who loses things. At last I accepted that it was gone, probably for good. It could have slipped out of the pocket when I either got in or out of the car, fell on the ground and someone perhaps picked it up. Pretty much the same routine today - pack the car and drive to the capital for another week of university. I arrived in front of the house I reside in throughout the week, but something told me to have a look at the seat. I reached in the gap between the bottom part of the seat where you sit and the top part you lean against. Imagine my shock when I felt the knife! Good grief, how rusty it must be after all these months, I thought. I pulled it out and had a look. Nothing! Not a single spot of corrosion whatsoever. I still giggle while writing this. After more than a year I found my favourite knife! In the picture below is also the knife I had in my pocket when I found it. I guess I was trying to fill a void ...
Oh well, the main thing is the lost son, I mean knife
, is found again. It's going right back in the pocket for some carry and cutting duties. It had a long enough vacation.
