Can you give me somme advice on the books below:

Books on the folder, I hesitate between the two following:

- The Tactical Folding Knife: A Study of the Anatomy and Construction
of the Liner-Locked Folder by Bob Terzuola

or

- How to Make Folding Knives by R. Lake ,Ron Lake

Books on Japanese swords

- The Craft of the Japanes sword ?

Books on medieval swords and weapons:

Bob Terzoula's folder making book is excellent, one of the best there is Alain!

For medieval swords I'd recomend "Records of the Medieval Sword", by R. Ewart Oakeshott (for that matter any of his books on the subject I'd recomend, and he has several!)

"The Craft of the Japanese Sword" is an excellent overview of the making of traditional Japanese blades from start to finish and I highly recomend it. It covers the art from the making of the steel to the final polish. Be aware that it doesn't go into great depth on any one section but does an excellent job nonetheless. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it doesn't cover the making of fittings beyond a shira-saya mounting. I've always hoped there might be another book dealing with tsuba and koshirae mountings from the same authors.

As far as the two books you mentioned on folding knives. Here is my philosophy, get them both! Terzoula's book focuses just on the liner lock and if that is your primary interest then it is chock full of details on that breed. Lake and Centofante's book just covers making non-locking and lock-back folders if I remember right.

You get Peter Atwoods video on making folders. It takes to step by step on how to make a folder and it is an excellent video.

I totally agree with what Silent posted about "The Craft of the Japanese Sword". It's chocked full of basic information. I would like to see a book on Japanese knives, also. Any suggestions, anyone? I don't have any info an the two books on folders.
