My impression is this: the back side is not flat at all in fact is more what you might call hollow ground, making contact with a straight edge at two points and then actually falling away towards the cutting edge from around 20 mm in. This makes a lot of sense to me in terms of making clean cuts in wood but I wonder about the intention of such a refinement on a tool of this nature. Anyway, though the chance is slim, has somebody gotten such a blade back into good working order?
