I'd post this over at Bernards, but it's pretty clogged over there, so I'll give it a shot here.

Does anyone know anything about this?
I've had it for years, just sitting in a junk drawer after I stole it from my older brother, who in turn had gotten it from a long lost relative.

I'll add Rostfrie altenbach solingen

But I could be wrong, I just feel its missing the Rostfrie word

Yeah Altenbach Solingen is okay, just curious about age, and maybe a name of it.

Not really Rostfrei no, it's pretty covered in rust and gunk on the inside. Those white splotches on the blade is probably paint or something.

Peter Altenbach and Sohne of Ohligs / Solingen. Active turn of the 20th century - mid 1990's. Looking at the knife, I'd figure it for 30's - 50's, with the better guess being the post WWII end of that range. Altenbach made low to middle budget cutlery and did a lot of subcontracting too.

Knife like yours in mint condition -

Also, just a note, the celluloid is going a little bad on yours, so keep it away from other metals and out in the open air.
