Seeking Bivvy-Wear jacket in USA

Introduced in 2002, Brigade Quartermaster used to sell a 1-pound Bivvy Wear (note double V in name) Thermolite insulated jacket that had *very* silky nylon outer fabric. That silky nylon made it very wind-proof. They have since discontinued selling it, which is unfortunate since I would like to source a spare unit.

My Google-fu is weak enough that I haven't found anyone in USA who carries that jacket. There are some UK vendors (Kempton, Silverman) for jackets that look very similar. My old original jacket may well be British since the zipper is backwards for standard USA men's zipper configuration.

Anyone here know where these are currently available stateside?

My review of the Bivvy Wear jacket and pants in testing:

Don't skate with this 'till someone verifies what I'm saying but I think you are out of luck. I think Bivvy Wear was exclusive to Brigade Quartermasters.

BIVVY WEAR has a trademark serial number of 78082017. That began 31/08/2001. As of 13/06/2009 the current federal status of this trademark filing is CANCELLED - SECTION 8.

Senor Taco, many thanks for that info on the exclusivity and likely demise of the Bivvy Wear brand.

While there are other Thermolite insulated jackets on the market (mostly in the skiing world it seems), they are real proud of them and price them accordingly.

Mah pleasure

Just going out the door now but I'll quickly suggest you have a look at the Snugpak Sleeka kit.
