Hello, This is my first post ever.

I bought an old '75 Coronet from the original owner a couple of yrs ago and found a Buck 305 in the ashtray. I happened to look it up on the Buck website and couldn't figure out the year. The knives I see pics of all have the normal crescent-shaped indentation for pulling out the blade. Mine has a straight-line indent that is almost an inch long. Also I can't see any symbols or dots to indicate what year according to info from the website. Can anyone out there clue me in as to what year this might be? The blade has the "BUCK" name with "305" below it and I can only make out the "A." in what should be "U.S.A." that is below the model#. Also, the anvil & hammer logo seems to be more detailed than the ones I see on the newer Lancer models.

Thanks for any help.

If I can figure out to post a pic I will show you the model before, yours and after. George is right on the dates. Now for the quest...

Thank you both for the info. I am not a knife collector, but love most old things from muscle cars to any kind of vintage small items. This knife intrigued me enough to get into this forum which I must say is Very Impressive. It looks like everyone here takes knife collecting seriously and have a wealth of knowledge. I am glad I found it.

Even though I don't intend on selling this knife, I was wondering about typical values. I found one like mine on an auction house type website for $85.00!! Could one of these small knives sell for that much? What would make a manufactured knife worth that much?

Thanks again. Patrick

I could see a real nice, minty, second generation Cami 305 bringing $36.00 on eBay but it would have to be really nice and complete, box and all. If it had scissors, a clipper, you could double that.
