Hello all,

I recently received a shot show griptilian. I love the knife, its superb. However, I almost traded it away because I wasn't a fan of the cutting performance of the saber grind in comparison to something like my Gayle Bradley. I like other aspects of the knife so much, though, that I'm thinking about getting it reground. I've heard of Krein regrinds, but I have no idea the process to go through to get one done, nor do I know the prices.

I'm thinking about getting it reground to a high hollow ground, of similar thickness to the hhg on the Gayle Bradley. Does anyone know how much this would cost and how I would get it done? Any information would be hugely appreciated, especially by people who've had it done before. Also, if anyone would like to contribute about what they thought about the idea, I'd be glad to listen. Just to eliminate any misguided comments, I am not concerned about how this would affect the value, etc. as I am just a user of knives not a collector.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Last I heard Tom Krein wasn't doing regrinds at this time. Check MT&E as mr anderson suggested. Someone there will be able to help you.

Thanks! I looked around in that sub forum and found out about someone named Richard j. I'm going to contact him and see if we can work a deal. If anyone has experience with him, I'd be glad to hear about it.

Richard J is a really nice guy and does great work. He has had some health problems recently, so you may or may not get an immediate response from him. If you can get in touch, and he agrees to do the work, you won't be unhappy with the results.

The best thing to do is ask your question in that sub. Answers will follow.
