Mr. Brownshoe and I have been argueing for more than a decade. While we often disagree, I have much respect for his knife knowledge and intelligence. A number of years ago, we made an agreement on the forum. He has kept his part of the bargain, so I also have much respect for his honor. My part of the bargain was to provide him with a Bob "T" "Starmate" when we made the next run.

We've just received a small shipment of the Bob Terzuola Starmate design, and I would like to have an opportunity to honor my part of the bargain, yet still retain his Anonymity. I need a path to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's acceptable to him I'd be willing to forward it for you

Thanks a lot Sal. It's been so long, I don't remember the details. I fixed my original Starmate and gave it to my son since he had lost his Endura. He loves it and has carried almost exclusively ever since. He's a chef and fisherman and uses it at work and play. He's proven that the Starmate and the CMP440V really holds up to hard continuous use. I liked the Starmate's design and wound up buying one of Bob's ACTFs. No hole :) but similar.

I bought the Terzuola SlipIt and that is an excellent knife. I was a little leery about the locking mechanism (I'm a T-Mag owner :) ) so I waited until I could coon-finger one before buying. Great little knife with more than sufficient lock-up.

As we all do, I've gotten mellower over the years. I've turned on my e-mail, that should work. Just shoot me a note and I will send you an address.

Good luck with the new product.

Thanks again and the respect is mutual.

That's pretty cool:thumbup: Congrats Brownshoe! Be sure to post some pics of it if you can. I'm sure everyone would love to see it.

Any info on when the Starmate will be released, Sal? Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, Just extremely curious.

It is things like this that make me love spyderco knives and the company itself!
Sal, Thanks for running such a great business.

I totally didn't expect for it to come this soon. Time to make minor knife purchasing "adjustments"... With gusto!

This is why I will continue to support Spyderco when I am able. Any chance we'll learn the details of the wager?
