Saw it today and man it is sweet. Looks pretty much like the T1 sheath.

I don't understand why he doesn't think he couldn't add a pocket to it? To me it looks plenty big enough? No biggie to me since I wouldn't get the upgraded version anyway especially since my BK2 is a version 1 and it also doesn't have the removeable handles anymore. You can check it out in the link below:

Watched it when I got the update in my email this morning! I think it's going to be awesome! I would like the firesteel and pouch, but I don't think I'll need the alan wrench. I've put micarta slabs on my BK2, and they are flat on the underside, so there's no room to store anything.

I can't wait to order one though...

It's a handsome rig, not sure I'd want the wrench attached though. As nice as they are, I'm not sure I can keep up with that price point for leather though. Seems a kydex rig could be made at a fraction of that. But I'm not trying to poopoo on anyone's parade!

I have many sheaths and nothing comes close to the hedgehog I have for my T1. Thats why they are backed with a 25 yr warranty. Its bombproof tho and should last even longer. Rarely have I ever had something that I really felt deserved the price I paid. Totally worth the price whatever it may be. I expect closer to the Kabar price as opposed to what the T1 sheath costs.

I emailed him and suggested a separate pouch for the stone/firesteel/wrench, I guess its too complicated to do that?

I have heard that horizontal carry in the back is dangerous. You could damage your spine if you fell backwards on the knife. Is there any truth to this?

I think that applies more to carrying a gun over your spine. A sheath rests on the muscle on either side of your spine and sort of bridges your lumbar area. I agree that there could be some risk but would guess that it's minimal.

That makes sense.

Nice sheath for who wants to pay for it.

It's not my cup of tea, I like the new Kydex version with a teclok just fine.

I'd say use lock light and lose the wrench. Seems like a useless add on to me.

That, or make it an option.

I believe the wrench and firesteel will be add on pieces. Like the pouch and firesteel on other models.

some people like as to store things in the handle... so they need the wrench. some folx like as to replace the hex bolts with slotted bolts wide enough to open with another knife, a spoon, a zipper pool...

course, makes no never mind with micarta. red white and blue loctite for that :)

I see...I forgot about the storage space in the handle. Ya I guess the wrench would come in handy for people who utilize that space.

le bump in anticipation of the secret new sheath that isn't a secret :)
