Finally got mine today in the mail. :D

Got it for a nice price on timezone's sales forum (forgot what it's called), and I couldn't be more impressed. This is a superb value for the money. It's my first automatic, and I think I'll be wearing this one for a while. I might go and find the original bracelet for this one, though, because I bought it on a kevlar strap (which does look and feel nice, though).

The finish is excellent, wears very well on the wrist although it's huge and weighs maybe twice as much (or more) than my G-shock. It looks really nice as well, has a nice "depth" to it with the inward curvature of the bezel and the crystal. This LumiBrite is also very bright.

Don't know how it's running yet, I'll be timing it overnight.

Woo! :D

i have an older seiko diver i got in the early '80s and its been a great watch, never cleaned and still going strong, dont wear it much anymore, but to only lose about 3-5 min a month after 20+ yrs is pretty good imho.

the only downer is that the bands from seiko are high, like over $50 IIRC, i have gotten 3-4 of them thru the yrs.

if ya find a cheap source for the band post it plse.

Does anyone know where I could go to get the watch regulated? I'm nowhere near competent enough to do it myself, and the watch is running maybe 20 seconds fast a day. I'd like to get that down to maybe 10 or less.

You may want to give it a little time to break in. These movements generally settle down after a little while.

It's a preowned watch, the previous guy had it for maybe 6 months, so it should be broken in by now. Although, he said it only wore it a few times. I guess I'll wait a bit to see if it evens out.

Are you looking for a new bracelet or just a new band? Fifty bucks for a new bracelet isn't a bad price at all.

I LOVE my Black Monster. It stays in my top 3 rotation (with a Poljot Aviator and a Citizen Diver).

Chronograph.com sells the bracelet for the Monster for $65 (Model : SKX781-bracelet). Be warned though, this is the heaviest bracelet that I have ever seen, and it dramatically (IMHO) changes the feel of the watch. I normally keep my BM on a NATO Bond strap, and switch it to the bracelet for special occasions or when going out for a night on the town.

Remember, the 7S26 movement can't be handwound, so they don't run unless they are worn or kept in a winder. Just because the previous owner had it for 6 months does not mean that it has run a fraction of that, especially if he said he only wore it a few times. I would give it a month or so of wearing and running before adjusting it (unless it is just driving you nuts).

Cool, will do. Thanks for the info, definitely planning on getting the bracelet in the future.

However, I think I will go ahead and get it regulated. It's gone from running fast maybe 20 seconds a day to 3 minutes fast, so.
