Can anyone tell me if the Seiko Model SKX781 at princetonwatches.com is the same as the Orange Monster (Seiko Model SKX781K)
from overseas?

If I am reading things correctly, the K model is made in Singapore or another Asian country. How does it differ from the non-K model (or does it)?

I'll likely call the company, but I thought I'd tap the resources here first.

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but from what I know:

SKX781 or SKX781K = rubber band OM
SKX781K2 = metal band

They are all from oversea's - but there are two versions of the 7S26. One is made in Japan, the other made in Singapore. I think both are about the same in quality.

You can find them on Ebay pretty cheap if you search for SKX781, SKX781K, and SKX781K2. Or, princeton watches is supposed to be good to deal with.

I really love mine. Have the metal band, and it is a wonderful watch - I am considering buying a black one too. Buy it, you won't regret it.

ASAIK, all the 'Monsters' are made in Sinagapore. The K, K1, etc, is referring to the band or bracelet and is commonly used in the part numbers on most of the Seiko dive watches.

The bracelet the come with the Monster is am impressive piece of design and manufacture, but it adds a couple of ounces to an already heavy watch. I normally wear my Black Monster on either a Nato band or a silicone dive band with deployment clasp that I got from WatchRick.

The Seiko Citizen forum is a very cool website. I have picked up several good deals on the trading forum.

Thanks for the help. I've gone over to the other forum but am currently just reading.

I received an email from princetonwatches as well. They say that it is the same watch.

I think what it comes down to now is choosing who to deal with.
