Sal, can you give me any sightseeing tips for Seki City, for instance is it possible to check out the knive makers in their shops or if possible is there a knife open market?

Endre - There is a "Knife festival" in the fall. Other than that, you really have to know someone and be there on business to get to the knifemakers. If you're planning on going there for business, there are a number of people I can introduce you to that do business with most of the makers.
Naturally, these arrangements would have to be made in advance of your arrival. Unless you read and speak the language, it is very difficult to get around in Seki without a guide.
