Seki City suggestions?

OK so I like my Seki knives a lot but neither get carried more than my s30v knives. So I want to step up from my vg10 delica and h1 df2. Looking for something less than $100 that will have either zdp-189 or Super Blue. Also any suggestions as to upkeep and maintenance of these two steels and which may be the easier for someone with limited sharpening capabilities. Thanks

Super Blue is getting quite hard to find. But there still seem to be a few reasonably priced Stretches in the Trader area recently.
Really dig both of my Stretches.

I haven't really done much to "care" for my Super Blues, other than use them and touch them up! But, I enjoy a good patina.

Super Blue is nice.
But it rust faster than other steels I have carried.

Traded it for a ZDP.

I always think I need something better but I always come back to VG10 in my Seki blades. Its simplicity is hard to beat.
But if you're looking to scratch that itch I'd go for a ZDP Stretch.

I personally love Super Blue. ZDP-189 is nice but trickier to sharpen IMO. SB does patina, but I think it adds character.

It's a little slick but attractive. I think I've owned them all, still have a few.
That's kinda what I'm after. I like to have a daily user and special occasion knife from each factory. I've only ever had frn Seki knives so I'm think I'm gonna hunt down a Nishijin one. Does anybody know what models where/are available with either Super Blue or ZDP-189?

Super Blue was only available in the Endura, Delica, Stretch, Dragonfly, and Man & Ladybugs from Seki, then Caly 3 & 3.5 from Moki. And all are now Disco'ed.

I REALLY wish they would continue with some Super Blue and do some Sprints of other models with it, like the Double Bevel, Starmate, Lum Tanto, Breeden Rescue, etc., etc... one can dream. :)
Even if they just brought back the 2 Calys with it I'd be super happy!

ZDP-189 is still current and much more prevalent. In FRN it was British Racing Green FRN most recently (in the Seki models listed above), and a few other colors in older models like burgundy and black FRN...
Some with CF handles like Stretch and Caly 3 & 3.5...

I too would like a Nishijin at some point. Never owned one. A Nishijin R would be pretty nice.

I'm pretty anxious to check out a new Stretch 2 G10 ZDP-189. :D

I'm thinking maybe i will hold out for the new Stretch. I like everything about the one I had except for the choil area so I'm excited for the new one. But after doing more research and the infection from the Spyderbite spreading, I've decided why pick between the two when I can have both lol. And in my research I've found that a Lava has made its way to my wish list.
