Seki City - worth visiting?

I'm planning a trip this year (I live in New Zealand) and would love to combine it with something to do with knives / weapons /swords etc... has anyone been to Seki City in Japan?

I mean... is it realistic to see lots of knives / swords? Can I visit factories? etc etc

Turns out there is a major knife show in Seki City in the middle of October - and dang it, its about 2 weeks too early for me.

Guess I'll have to go to Blade Show 2003!

You might post this question on the Spyderco forum as well, perhaps Sal Glesser could give you some input or advice. I'm not sure, but i think this question may have come up before, some time ago.

Here's a thread from back in 1999 where Sal says that Seki is not generally setup for tourists.
