I just got my Xmas present to myself in the mail. A Seki Cut in D2 w/Micarta scales. Sweet! Smooth, SHARP! 7.40 oal. My new EDC.

That's a Bob Lum design. The "Encounter". It is a fine knife and gets razor sharp. I have one also and like it very much. My is in G-10, not micarta. I only wish the liners were a bit thicker but it's still a nice EDC. It's not all that expensive for a D2 blade and designed by one of the best.

Regards

I wish there was a 3.5-3.75" version, 4" is pushing it for me. Smooth action? Any bladeplay?

I really like the Encounter's profile, especially the blade shape. Wish it was available with a lockback and natural materials.

Very nice.. I've been looking at those at JKD but they are out of most of the models right now.

I found the action smooth on mine. No blade play either.

Potential buyers should know that it's not a "take anything" kind of knife. It will perform quite nicely though in lite to medium forms of work. It's not a "pry bar" but I still believe it to be a nice, dependable knife with a VERY comfortable handle.

Four inches is a bit large to me also. But it rides very low in the pocket and I found it more comfortable to carry them most of my knive that length and many that are smaller.

I've been looking at them for a while too.

Looks perfect for an EDC, especially in the smaller version.

Also check out Mcusta knives. I have 2 of them. They are a great buy, not too big, beautiful designs, and wonderful F&F.

Mine is the smaller version the "S" is for Short or ???

Yes the lockup its tight, no play, no play sideways or slop yet silky smooth.

Sharp? YES I did get a bit cocky and put a few strokes on the white flats of the Sharpmaker and the edge is holding up great cutting all the Christmas boxes, strings and a little skin as well. So far so good, it rides low in the pocket and you hardly notice it, the very corner could use a little rounding when folded and clipped in the pocket but no problem.

Mine showed as out of stock as well but the order went through and it came in 4 days to SoCal.

It’s not a pry bar but its light and tight. I wanted a composite handle G10 or Micarta is just fine. For the price I think you can do much worse…..
