Cold Steel,

Again, great to see Cold Steel represented here on BFC.

I posted this question some time ago prior to your arrival and was never able to get an answer. Maybe, hopefully you'll be able to shed some light.

I was given a Cold Steel Carbon V Trailmaster that says made in Seki Japan on the blade.

After much research I learned quite a bit about it's history and the circumstances surrounding the Carbon V Trailmasters being produced in Seki Japan and that they are fairly rare.

However, the one question that still remains that I'd really like to know is what Carbon V was used in these blades?

Was the Carbon V used made in the U.S.A and then the knife assembled in Japan or was the steel actually made in Seki? And if so was it the same formula use in the U.S.A blades?

I know the Seki Japan Trailmasters are very rare and the more I know and learn about them the more interesting it becomes.

I would appreciate any information on the question of what the steel is in Seki Japan Carbon V ?

Thank you very much.

Who are the main producers of Carbon V?
Is there a manufacturers mark on the blade?

Cold Steel,

I was hoping for some info or elaboration on the made in Seki Japan Trailmaster.

Like I said I realize it's rarity and the more I can find out about it the more "special" I guess it becomes. It's nice to know the history and details of a somewhat rare knife.

It's been a couple of day's since I posted the question and was wondering if there was any info you might have found out or able to provide?

Thank you again.

Apologies, we are filming our PROOF video right now and it kinda takes over the entire company. It's a MASSIVE project.
To my knowledge, the knife in question was manufactured completely in Japan. The steel was made there from the same formulation as the USA models. These knives were only made in Japan for a year or two, a long time ago. They are very rare.
I've only ever seen one of them myself
I hope that helps

Yes, it helps very much and thank you very much!

Well, I really do appreciate it. I've been trying to find an answer to that question for a long time.

Thanks again!
