SEKI version Tigershark Sheath Question

I just got a hold of a powder coated Tigershark with a kydex sheath. The knife is pretty much perfect. I can always find small blemishes, but it looks and smells (I know, I have issues) factory fresh. The sheath on the other hand looks good until you notice that someone cut the retaining strap off. There are some frayed nylon strands still visible and two small razor cut marks in the plastic. WTF, right!?!??

Anyway, the person I bought it from is negotiating with me on what the price should be reduced by. I payed $205 (knife, sheath, no box) and could probably find another sheath for it or have a custom one made. I am not a fan of kydex sheaths anyway. I prefer a nylon type or even leather over kydex.

I am thinking $20-$30 on the price of the knife. Thoughts?

And has anyone had a custom sheath made for this knife?

UPDATE: I got him to knock off $20. I want a different sheath anyway. Kydex wrecks powder-coated finishes.

Sounds like you and the seller worked things out. :) I too tend to prefer Leather and nylon sheaths on my knives, but find that Kydex sheaths are easier to lash to a pack then my leather ones. So I keep the keep the kydex sheaths around for lashing and make leather sheaths for belt carry.

Got any pics of your new Tigershark?

I will post some pics soon. I have added a few more additions to the collection as well.

I found a custom leather sheath for the Tigershark that should work just fine. However, now that I learned how molle gear works, I wish I could get sheaths like that for all my SOGs!!
