As I recall, which may not be accurate, the bronze bushing that the blade pivots on needs to be filed flat on one side and mounted in a specific fixed position.
Seems there's a drawing pertaining to this on the BCCI site under model history and customer designed knives.
I put one together with a barehead brass frame years ago, but forgot the details.

With regard to the first question, the 110 pivot pin is a 1/8” diameter pressed fit (headless) rivet. A bushing is needed to fill the space between it and the blade hole. It is not easy to switch blades when you have to punch out the pin every time you do the switch.
If you have take apart knife like the Model 186, you can use the Selector blade with or with out a flat spot on the bushing. Without the flat spot, the pivot screw must be pulled to change blades. If you use a properly oriented slabbed bushing, you can change blades by depressing the rocker (true Selector). In the 1st photo, a Model 186 Titan is shown with a modified bushing (it’s upside down). In use, the bushing is squeezed between the handle slabs to keep it oriented.
Second question. You can use the take apart handle for Selector blades, and no bushing is required. The T-Nut can hold the Selector blade, but disassembly is required for switching blades (photo #2). If you want a quick change set up, you must slab the T-Nut pivot post and keep it oriented using the flats on the 8 sided head of the T-Nut (photos 3 and 4).
