So, took initiative this year and decided to buy myself a B-day/Fathers Day gift. I have been patiently waiting since Saturday 16 JUN, and today the box arrived!

Let's take a look and see what we got......

Yep. Finally got me a BK9 to add to the family (BK2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15 already here and waiting on the others). Let's see how she looks all sexy and new from the box!

Smells like a new knife. Figuring I would have to get out and change that right away, I was super motivated and decided to run my finger across the tiny little choil and baptized it in my own blood. Here is teh culprit:

And here is the blood:

Not sure how yunz (that's yall in SW PA, specifically Pittsburgh) handle these situations, but Awesome-0 can back me up on this little dandy of a helper:

Problem solved.............................problem staying solved.

First inpretions, much lighter than I thought it would be. Super sharp from the box (no shit, huh) like all my other beckers. Can't wait to put her thru the paces. BTW, Tomar's sent me a patch this time instead of the standard keychain.....good looking out fellas (guess you knew I have 4 of them bad boys already). Here it is with my BKT patches:

Cool, the BK9 is something I've had my eye on for a while and one of the few blades I wont customize beyond a kydex sheath and scales.

I will definatly get to work on this one, onc eit gets some "natural wear". Wood handles, stripped and probably a Skystorm sheath or I'll order another Machax sheath for the 9.

Congrats. The 9 is a beast, isn't it. I too, was surprised by how light it is.

Congrats on the new blade. I'm still waiting on a BK-5 that I bought for myself. It will definitely get stripped a patina'd when I get my hands on it. :D

Awesom-o.......normally takes a few days for them to bite.this one was right to the point.

Warrior, yep.felt the same way about the Machax as well. Looks way bigger on the website, but when you get your hands on it they seem more usable.

RKMoore, the BK5 is my favorite Becker.

Super glue is good stuff. And I agree with you on the Machax. Way smaller in person.

I think you have to spend over like $100 bucks? I got the keyring when I got my 7 and 16...

I'v spend over 200+ at a single time w/o shipping still nothing. I cant really complain because I get knives though.

I've only bought one knife at a time (all less than $100) from Tomar's and usually get a little gift each time. Thinking about it....this is the only time I didn't get a catalog as well.

I want a catalog! I reckon the little "gifts" are just random and you know, if they've got them on hand they'll throw it in.

I also cut myself as soon as I got my 9. All I did was accidentally brush the tip past the inside of my forearm and next thing I knew I felt dripping down my arm. The King needs you to know who is the boss right out of the box.

I always super glue near me whenever I handle my knives! They have been known to jump right up and bite me. Good haul with the niner.
All the best
Balding
