This one was a fun piece to make, and was glad when it was complete.

This is my English model self lock with four slip joint blades in a lobster configuration. The main blade is forged 52100, small blades are CPM154 as are the springs. The spring edges and liner edges are carved with running leaves and rope pattern. All five blades have long pulls.

The ivory scales are checkered with 20 lines per inch. I entertained engraving the bolsters, but witht he ivory and bright blade, I was afraid the engraving would be too dark and possibly gaudy. The lines and groove break up the bolster nicely I think.

I have it listed on my website www.bradshawcutlery.com .

Let me know what you think

That is a cool knife!

Great work, as always-I really like the fine details..:thumbup::thumbup:

Very cool knife! The ivory and filework must have taken some serious time.

The results are stunning.

That must have been a labor of love. Lots of planning and time to make it work right. Just beautiful Bailey! It gives me lots of inspiration and motivation. I think it's under priced!

Beautiful knife Bailey - and I like the look of the new web site as well. Let me know if you need any photos I have of knives past and I will send them along.

A very challenging piece Bailey and beautifully executed
I Think You made the right choice leaving the Bolsters anadorned The knife has so much movement as is..The Filework is beautiful and combined with the checkering really give off a jewelled look.
I like that you married the ingenious self-lock to an old pattern..
no secret I like the multi blades Congratson another winner!

I managed to get one of these from Bailey with checkered blackwood scales.

The pictures do not do the pattern justice, but I am worse at photography than Bailey.

It really is a wonder--quite unique, and one of the prides of my collection.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

With the current state of the knife industry...loaded with talented makers, but a little stagnant IMHO in regards to what is typicly being produced in some circles ( like the loads of great bowies, but they look so similar) I am really making an effort to produce unique pieces with familiar styling. I have always enjoyed old patterns like this one is based on, and being able to implement the Self lock is an extra measure of coolness.

more to come.....Thanks again:D

Terrific! Really one of the nicest pieces I have seen of yours in a while. Rugged and elegant at the same time. By the way, I like you updated website.
