I wan't to make a sheath myself. I can only hand stitch and I don't want to use any metal.

What material and thread for stitching is most cut-resistant? Leather might be good if it has some elasticity, what I am looking for is a material that won't get cut easily from normal use and has some elasticity so as to keep the knife in its sheath without the use of a strap.

My thoughts are Cordura or leather mainly.

Help me out, please.

Or if you can find someone who makes cheap custom sheaths, then please tell me, I hope to find a sheath for around 20 USD.

Someone could have at least told me that leather sheaths are stitched with Flax and bonded with contact cement.

Now I need to find the materials.

What I am aimind to make is a sheath that will not require a strap, I'll make the damn thing, you watch!

I know lots of sheath makers, but none that make sheaths for anywhere near $20.00. What kind of knife is the sheath for?
