I started with that. I banged on the false edge with a hammer to dent it out and I'm grinding it down on concrete. It made batoning problematic so it needed to go. Next, I cut off the top part of the guard then sanded it down some more to even things out. My thumb is happier using this knife now. Working on grinding it flat to the main bevel, like a mora. This part of the project I've had to suspend because my hand is too injured to do the grinding. Cutting performance has already started to improve though. Now I have another inch or so I can pound on while I baton and my thumb can rest on the spine more easily. Not a bad knife for 30$, just needed some modifications due to some poor design choices.

Next, I have a Serrated Endura 3 that I made plain edge. Turned out better than I (And other people) expected. :)
