hi guys. i'm new here, and this is my very first post. a while back i used to be a class A driver. a fellow driver showed me his self opening sheath for his buck knife. when you pull the knife out it opens the blade automatically. it had to be put back in a special way so it would reopen the next time you pulled it out. he told me he got it at a truck stop in Iowa. well now i'd like to get one, but can't remember the name, and location of the truck stop. anyone know of such an animal, or where to get one?

i hope someone knows of it, and can help.

Is something like this what you are looking for?? I can't spot the auction for you, but you can search eBay for Sheath Automatic Opening and probably find it. I have seen similar sheaths several times and they are not factory made. All I have seen are made by individuals. Several guys on this forum could probably make one for you, excluding me, because I don't have time to go to a new style right now.

As Paul said, there are a feew to be found at e-bay, by a couple different guys making them..

I like the idea for a fast access knife, either self deffence or just one hand utility, especially since i hate modern liner/frame locking knives- prefer lockbacks or non lockers.

I found this place about a year ago, don't know how good they are, I never got around to getting a Buck knife, so never got to test the idea..

sent ya a email.

oops senior moment. your not the maker. sorry

seriously you never got a Buck knife? i too dislike the frame knives. no offense to those that like them, but they just seem cheap to me. i'm not hot on the blade locks they use either. i gotta send my Buck in for a new blade, so i'm looking for a temp replacement blade. i saw one i like at my local gun shop. it's a frame knife, but it feels nice in my hand. Buck said turn around time is roughly 6 weeks. too long not to have a blade on my side. that would be the first time in over 25 years not to have a Buck on my side.

has anyone recently dealt with cowboy Al? sent a email to him, but no response as of yet? it's only been 3 days, but i kinda thought he would check his mail on a regular basis.

I've got a slack day tomorrow. I may play around with a proto type for a 110
. If it runs out workable I'll post a picture of two after New Years .

please keep me posted. i think Cowboy Al is over booked, or forgot to check his email. either way i'd like the holster for my 110.
