Anyone have any insight into why the mag ended?

Any clue as to why they handled the end like they did?

What is a good replacement for it?

I'm not sure of the why's and how's of the demise of it, but Ron and Karen Hood are starting a magazine. Should be actually a better magazine as far as wilderness tips, survival, knives etc.

From what I got through bits on the net, a liberal owner took over. They didn't like ASG and made them change their ways. That's when guns went off the cover, etc. Then they felt the mag was still too conservative and they fired everybody and shut the doors.

It's just another way for liberals to force their views, buy the conservative mags and close them down.

The way I understood it, Backwoods Home magazine bought out SRJ's subscriptions...Maybe that wasn't correct!?!

Try to get in on the ground floor of Ron and Karen's new magazine, it should be a good one!

Actually, the mag changed names. You can still find the same great gun articles, Christopher Nyerges survival tips, etc. in "Self Reliance Journal." It doesn't seem too liberal to me...
