Can anyone briefly explain the process of selling a knife here on the bladeforums exchange? I know I have to upgrade my membership to do it, but as far as the process works beyond that, I'm in the dark. I have a whole heapin' helpin' of lightly used knives to sell, and I was considering putting them on the 'bay, but I'd like to contribute to the BF community. Thanks everyone.

It's as easy as the post you just made here.Add a picture or 3 of the knife and a good description.

Remember to be patient with your sale. Don't get upset when you have folks trying to "low-ball" you. If you know the value, someone else will too.

If you have no idea what the going price is around here, check ebay and then take off about 15-20%. (You'd pay that much for fees, anyway.) This is all just conjecture on my part, though.

Good luck! And thanks for becoming a paying member!

How does the payment work? Is it all though Paypal, or is it agreed upon at each individual trade?

You can request Paypal, money order, certified check, pretty much anything you want. That is your decision. One suggestion I have is if you use Paypal, factor in any percentages for fees that way the sale will be easier for everyone. Some tend to stay away from a sale that asks for an extra 3% to "cover fees".

If you take a few minutes to browse the exchange, you can pretty much get a clear idea of how to sell, what kind of payments are popular, and what to do next.
